Attend L.I.N.K.S. Foundations and fill your toolbox with accurate and up to date information about base and community resources, and network in your community.

Being thrust into a new community and military culture can lead to endless questions from “Does my spouse’s rank apply to me?” to “How should I prepare for their upcoming deployment?”

On your journey to discover the answers to these questions and better acclimate to a new community, attend Lifestyle Insights, Networking, Knowledge and Skills Training, also known as L.I.N.K.S Foundations.

L.I.N.K.S. is an interactive acculturation program to Marine Corps life and the local installation where participants learn about Corps history, traditions and rank; local installation resources, services, and benefits; military pay; separation and deployment; communication styles; and how to invest in the community and themselves.

L.I.N.K.S. Foundations is open to all base patrons and parents of service members. Those who complete every session can receive a certificate, and become eligible to serve as a L.I.N.K.S. Mentor. Volunteer positions available!! Can't find a sitter? Children are always welcome.

L.I.N.K.S. Certification is required for all L.I.N.K.S. Mentors and Unit Personal Family Readiness Program Volunteers.

L.I.N.K.S. Foundations Sessions

Our Corps, Our Culture: All things Marine Corps, including History, Rank, Structure, Traditions, Etiquette & Protocol. Outlines USMC structure and mission to include Navy personnel attached to USMC units. Provides historical insights and discusses traditions.

Events & Etiquette: Discusses the traditions of various USMC events and how to use proper etiquette, including the Marine Corps Ball.

Resource Decoder: Learn about amazing local resources. An overview of benefits, privileges, and resources available to military families; including the location of these services and how to access their wealth of information.

Knowing the Benefits: Hear first-hand from a Personal Financial Management Expert what you can expect regarding pay, allowances, and deductions and how to protect your credit. Explains the differences between a civilian and military paycheck, while introducing the Leave and Earning Statement (LES), including a general discussion on basic pay and allowances.

Separation Preparation: Types of deployments and how our families can thrive through the emotional cycle. Discusses the inevitable separations military families will experience, and provides suggestions from seasoned spouses on how to successfully balance the additional responsibilities when your Marine is away

The Places You’ll Go: Moving in the military - tips and tricks to getting to your new duty station. Insights on the moving process; everything from the first packer’s inspection to clearing quarters

Building Connections: Maintaining healthy relationships throughout the journey. Focuses on healthy interaction with others in the family and community; insights into the role of the Navy Chaplain and family support

Community Engagement: Empower yourself through volunteering. Explore the benefits of becoming involved in your community; discuss local opportunities for volunteering and how to include on a resume.

L.I.N.K.S. Training provides information on available resources and methods for meeting many of the challenges that come with the military lifestyle. L.I.N.K.S. for Spouses is a peer mentoring program that engages spouses through volunteerism.

"Coffee" Chats are Monthly networking events that give family members a chance to meet and greet their neighbors. Guest speakers host discussions on various topics such as local programs and services, volunteer opportunities, wellness, relationship building, and personal & professional development.

LifeSkills Training & Education

LifeSkills Training & Education offers many workshops like Basic Stress Management, Four Lenses Temperament Discovery, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Military Families, and The 5 Love Languages, just to name a few. Make sure to schedule in a Date Night to bring you and your loved one closer through fun and interactive events! Check out the schedule for currently scheduled events. Every workshop offers an open and highly interactive atmosphere emphasizing relationship building, communication skills, team leadership, and personal growth.
